How it works

  1. Drop in a videoAny MP4, MOV or WebM — a screen recording, a phone clip, a reaction.
  2. Pick the momentDrag the start and end handles, or play the video and mark the start and end at the current frame. Up to 30 seconds.
  3. Make the GIFChoose the width, frame rate and colours, then download your looping GIF.

Getting a small, sharp GIF

Keep it shortEvery second adds frames. Three to six seconds is plenty for a reaction or a demo.
Width matters most480 px is sharp in chats; 320 px is half the size. Above 640 px, consider an MP4 instead.
Frame rate10–15 fps looks smooth for most clips; 20 fps for fast motion.
ColoursGIFs can show 256 colours per frame. Dropping to 64 shrinks the file but can band gradients.

FAQ

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video is processed inside your browser on your own device and never sent anywhere — so it’s fast to start and safe for private clips.

How long can the GIF be?

Up to 30 seconds — but shorter is better. A 5-second, 480-pixel GIF at 12 fps is usually a few megabytes.

Why is my GIF so large?

GIF is an old format with weak compression. Reduce the width, frame rate or length, or use 64 colours.

Can I make a slow-motion GIF?

Yes — set Speed to 0.5×.

Does the GIF have sound?

No. GIFs can’t contain audio. If you need sound, compress the clip as an MP4 instead.

Which browser works best?

Chrome or Edge on a computer are fastest, because they use your graphics card to encode video. Safari works for most files; phones work for shorter clips.

Is it free?

Yes — free, no sign-up and no watermark. The site is supported by the ads on the page.
