FAQ

Are my files uploaded?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser, on your own computer or phone. Your files are never sent anywhere, so it’s safe for unreleased music and private recordings.

How long can a ringtone be?

iPhone ringtones can be up to 40 seconds and are usually 30. Android has no strict limit, but 20–30 seconds is typical — the phone simply loops it while it rings.

What is an M4R file?

It’s the iPhone ringtone format: AAC audio in an MP4 container, the same as an M4A file but with the .m4r extension that iPhones recognise as a ringtone.

How does it pick the best part?

It scans the whole song for the loudest, most energetic 30-second stretch — usually the chorus or a drop. You can drag the selection anywhere you like.

Can I make a text or notification tone?

Yes. Drag the selection down to a few seconds, set the fades to short or none, and download. On iPhone, choose it under Text Tone instead of Ringtone.

Why is the volume changed?

Volume is set to “Match streaming” so quiet and loud songs ring at a similar level. Choose “Keep as is” to use the original level, or “Maximise” to make it as loud as possible.

Is it free?

Yes — free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no file limits beyond your device’s memory. It’s supported by the ads on the page.
