Reverse Audio — Play a Song Backwards

How it works

  1. Drop in a songAny audio file or voice note from your device. It’s reversed straight away.
  2. Add some spaceMix in reverb, change the room size or slow it down — or switch to the reverse-reverb swell.
  3. DownloadMake an MP3, M4A or WAV of the whole thing, or send it to the visualizer for a video.

Backwards audio, three ways

ReversedThe whole recording is flipped end to end, so the last sound plays first.
Reversed + reverbA room around the reversed track smooths it into a dreamy, ambient texture.
Reverse reverb swellA producer’s trick: the song plays forwards, but every sound is preceded by a reversed echo that swells into it.
Hidden messagesReversing is how people check songs for “backmasked” messages — and how they hide their own.

FAQ

Is my song uploaded?

No. Everything happens inside your browser on your own device — the processing, the preview and the final file. Your audio is never sent anywhere.

How do I reverse a song?

Drop it in — it’s reversed straight away. Press Play to hear it, then Make the file to download it backwards.

What is reverse reverb?

An effect where the reverb tail comes before each sound instead of after it, so vocals and hits swell in from nothing. It’s made by reversing the audio, adding reverb, and reversing it back.

Can I reverse a voice message or a short clip?

Yes. Any audio works, from a two-second sound to a whole album track. Video files work too — the audio is taken out and reversed.

Why does the reversed song start quietly?

Most songs fade out at the end, and that fade is now the start. Untick the fade option or trim it in the audio cutter if you want it to start sooner.

Can I hear the difference?

Yes. Press Compare with original while it plays to flip between the untouched song and your version at the same spot.

Can I upload the result to YouTube, TikTok or Spotify?

Only if you own the song or have permission. An edited version of someone else’s recording is still their recording, and platforms’ copyright systems will usually match it. You’re responsible for what you upload; for your own music, go for it.

Is it free?

Yes — free, no sign-up and no watermark, at full length. The site is supported by the ads on the page.
